Healthy Chocolates

November 6, 2017

Calling all Chocoholics... these little chocolate bars are so rich and chocolatey. They are refined sugar free and made with beautiful, raw, plant-based ingredients. So simple and easy to make, you won't need to buy chocolate ever again! Share with friends, or keep them all to yourself, haha!

I have used heart shape ice cube trays to portion them out because I couldn't find anything else, but I think it's worked rather well. Sometimes repurposed things turn out to be the best discoveries just when you think you have nothing. Make sure you keep them in the fridge because they melt easily.

60g of Coconut Oil

40g of Maple Syrup

Half a tsp of Vanilla Extract

4 heaped tbsp of Cacao Powder

90g Nut Butter (I've use Peanut Butter)

A tiny pinch of Sea Salt

Toasted Hazelnuts, (optional)

Gently melt the coconut oil in a pan. Take off the heat and mix in the maple syrup and Vanilla Extract. Then mix in the nut butter and add a very tiny pinch of salt.

Taste to see whether the chocolate requires any extra cacoa if it's too sweet, or extra maple syrup if too bitter. You should not be able to taste the salt but it should enhance the chocolatey flavour.

Get a chocolate mould or ice cube tray and spoon in the mixture into small, bitesize portions. Leave to cool and set in the fridge for at least an hour (or the freezer for 20 minutes if you really can't wait). Now sit back and indulge yourself!
